New Music:
Or: How I Keep My Sanity
Fall is here, which means it's time for me to create my seasonal Spotify unnamed brand playlist. I don't really know how to write about music, and I certainly have no interest in trying to pretend to be a music critic, so instead I guess I'll just share my recent favorites.
Admittedly, I've really slacked this year on listening to new albums. Blame a busy job, podcasts, and no longer having a motorcycle to take on long rides. E-bike rides through the city while people are trying to kill you is more of an NPR thing, ya know? Anyway, I have found some new stuff. Like I said, I don't really know how to write about music, so I'll just say I operate off of vibes, and I think you'll get what i'm going for.
Here's some music I like.
Admittedly, I’m a slut for vocals like this.
Mattiel has show up on pretty much every seasonal playlist I’ve made this year, so no surprise here. But this one has fall vibes.
Fall allows for whimsey. In this case, a 1960’s groove about those that’ve got the moves. Hey hey hey.
The vibes are vibe-y. That kickdrum, that guitar, that vocal compression. Hire me Rolling Stone.
